Mechmet Nail was born in 1975 in Avato village of Xanthi, Greece. He completed his primary education at Avato Primary School, where the education was half in Turkish and half in Greek, his secondary and high school education at Bursa Cumhuriyet High School and his university education at Ankara University.
He started writing poetry during his school years and continued to write sporadically until he graduated from university.
After university, he wrote columns about technology for a local newspaper.
Later, he conducted research on the region where he was born and raised and published them on his own website.
At a time when he was writing regional stories, he realized that he enjoyed it very much and started to put the stories he had accumulated into a book with the aim of writing during his retirement years.
He first published a book of essays titled “Can Dostları from Kırbaş to Reks”, and shortly after that he published a second book of novels titled “Vodina - Kaan's Story”. This was followed by the second book in the Vodina series, Vodina - Eleni's Dream. However, he had already started writing long before he published these books, and he has a number of science fiction novels in the genre that he has not yet published. Lately he spends his free time reorganizing them.
He is an Electronics and Computer Engineer. Works in the software and computer industry, and lives in Xanthi, where he was born.
Since 2004, he has been married to Ceyhan Molla Ibram.
